Darren Hosie is the Business Development Manager Asia-Pacific at the world's leading manufacturer of distilling equipment, Forsyths, based in the heart of Speyside, Scotland. They produce hand-crafting pot and column stills for whisky and other distilled spirits. To this day, Forsyths’ quality copper stills are still hand-made in Scotland, which are in high demand all over the world particularly with a fast-growing client base in Asia. It would be a very exciting new adventure for Darren and the company to judge for HK IWSC.

"Having worked and travelled all over Asia for the last 12 years, I have built up a great knowledge of international spirits and also the spirits in most countries around Asia.

Meeting previous and new judges and seeing the wealth of knowledge on hand is truly exciting. It certainly proves that the HKIWSC is being judged by the most knowledgeable people in the industry and highlights that any product worthy of any trophy or medal can be justifiably proud of it and consumers can choose with confidence.

It is always interesting to see where new products are coming from. Since my first time judging there has been quite a marked increase in the more traditional style of Asian spirits being entered into the competition which is great to see."
